Earlier, we reported that Christoph Waltz joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building. Now actress Renee Zellweger is the latest addition to the crime comedy series, reports Deadline.

The series follows a couple of strangers that are interested in true crime podcasts, who start to investigate suspicious murders in an apartment building. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez star in the lead roles as the true-crime fans turned investigators.

Along with Martin, Short, and Gomez, Only Murders in the Building stars Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Jackie Hoffmann, Jane Lynch, Molly Shannon, Richard Kind, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Kumail Nanjiani. Tea Leoni and Keegan-Michael Key joined the series for season five with Zellweger and Waltz.

Only Murders in the Building is created by Steve Martin and John Hoffmann. They serve as executive producers along with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal. Hulu and 20th Television are behind the series. The makers have not yet revealed the storyline for the new season and details about the characters, but production for Season Five has begun in New York this week.

Zellweger is known for her roles in films like Jerry Maguire (1996), Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) and its sequels. She won an Oscar for her role in Cold Mountain (2003) in the Best Supporting Actress category and an Oscar in the Best Actress category for playing Judy Garland in the biopic Judy (2019).
