As Samuel Goldwyn has bagged the distributing rights for the US release for Red Sonja, a new look at the film has been released by its makers. The film is set to release in 2025, reports Deadline.

Red Sonja is based upon the comic book character of the same name, which was created for Marvel Comics by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith. Thomas and Windsor-Smith were in turn inspired by Robert E Howard's character Red Sonja.

Brigitte Nielsen earlier portrayed the character in Red Sonja (1985) alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan the Barbarian.

Matilda Lutz stars as Red Sonja, with Robert Sheehan, Wallis Day, Martyn Ford, Michael Bisping, Phillip Winchester and Trevor Eve. The film is directed by MJ Bassett from a script by Tasha Huo. Bassett serves as a producer with Lati Grobman, Les Weldon, Joe Gatta, Christa Campbell, Yariv Lerner, Luke Lieberman, Avi Lerner, Jonathan Younger, Mark Canton and Courtney Solomon.
