Season Four of the psychological thriller AMC's Dark Winds adds actor Chaske Spencer to its cast, reports Deadline. AMC renewed the series for a fourth season in February.
Dark Winds, based on the Leaphorn & Chee books by Tony Hillerman, is set in 1971 at the Navajo Nation and follows the story of two detectives, Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, as they are overwhelmed with several crimes. On the path to solve the murders, they fight personal battles and inner turmoils.
Spencer is set to play Sonny, a charismatic and dangerous man who uses his persona to recruit young men who moved to Los Angeles from the Navajo reservation into the local crime ring.
Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon portray Lt Joe Leaphorn and his deputy Jim Chee, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Jessica Matten, Deanna Allison, Rainn Wilson, and Noah Emmerich. Franka Potente, who is known for her role in The Bourne Identity, joined season four recently.
Dark Winds is created by Graham Roland with John Wirth as the showrunner. Roland and Wirth serve as executive producers on the series with Tina Elmo, Jim Chory, Chris Eyre, Anne Hillerman, Vince Gerardis, and star McClarnon, with actor Robert Redford and author George RR Martin.
The production on the upcoming season is set to start this month and season four of Dark Winds is set to release in 2026.
Seasons one and two of Dark Winds are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
