Pixar dropped the first official trailer for its much-delayed film Elio a while ago. The film has a voice cast featuring Yonas Kibreab, Zoe Saldana, Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil, Shirley Henderson, and Remy Edgerly. The plot follows the titular teenager (Kibreab), who travels from the Earth to another universe, which mistakenly identifies him as Earth's leader. By chance, he befriends Glordon, who is an alien. However, Elio gives his all in the new role, forging ties with eccentric alien creatures, dealing with a major crisis, and discovering his true self and purpose.

The film hails from directors Domee Shi, Madeline Sharafian, and Adrian Molina as well as producer Mary Alice Drumm.

Elio was initially slated for a March 01, 2024, release, but it has been postponed to June 20 this year. The film marks Pixar's comeback after the successful Inside Out 2, which turned out to be last year's highest-grossing film worldwide and earned a Best Animated Feature Oscar nomination.
