The other day, Prime Video released a new trailer for its new miniseries The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The series stars Jacob Elordi and Ciaran Hinds as the younger and older versions of the same character.

The miniseries is adapted from Richard Flanagan's novel of the same name, which was the winner of the 2014 Booker Prize. Elordi plays the a soldier from Australia, Dorrigo Evans, who becomes a prisoner of war during World War II. His haunting experiences during the war take him back to his time in Australia, where he pursued an affair with his uncle's wife. His experiences during the war and before are recounted by an older version of Evans, who became a surgeon after the war.

The miniseries stars Elordi, DeJonge, Hinds, Heather Mitchell, Show Kasamatsu, Thomas Weatherall, and Simon Baker. It was directed by Justin Kurzel and written by Shaun Grant.

Author Richard Flanagan, along with Kurzel and Grant, is an executive producer on the series. Under the Curio Pictures banner, Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner will also serve as executive producers. Alexandra Taussig is a producer for The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The series is presented by Amazon MGM Studios.

The Narrow Road to the Deep North premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. It will be released on Prime Video on April 18 in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, and Sony Pictures Television will distribute it internationally.
