Conan O’Brien, who delivered a witty opening monologue at the 97th Academy Awards, is set to make a comeback as the ceremony's host next year as well. The Academy's CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang made the announcement, to which O'Brien replied with his signature wit. "The only reason I’m hosting the Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech," O'Brien wrote, referring to The Brutalist star's recent speech that set the record for the longest Oscar acceptance speech of all time.
In his debut as the Oscars host, O’Brien made many memorable remarks that left a mark on the fraternity. In one humorous moment, he addressed the controversy around Emilia Perez star Karla Sofia Gascon’s resurfaced social media posts, including a post about diversity at the Academy Awards. The host's remarks elicited laughter from the audience and even a smile from Gascon, who held her hands apologetically.
Executive producers Katy Mullan and Raj Kapoor are also set to helm the Academy Awards for the third year in a row.
