Paramount+ renews Landman for season 2

It originally debuted on Paramount+ in November, with the Season 1 finale airing in January

After a rousing reception for the first season of Landman, Paramount+ has renewed the Taylor Sheridan series for season 2.

Starring Billy Bob Thornton in the lead role, the show is inspired by the 11-part podcast Boomtown and is set in the world of the West Texas oil fields. It follows the high-stakes world of roughnecks and billionaires reshaping the global economy. It originally debuted on Paramount+ in November, with the Season 1 finale airing in January.

The show garnered positive reception upon release and according to Paramount, Landman also had the most watched global premiere and finale of any series in the history of the platform. Thornton received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the show.

Apart from him, the star cast also features Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.

Sheridan and Christian Wallace, who created the podcast serve as co-creators of Landman. Both of them serve as executive producers along with David C Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Thornton, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, Stephen Kay, Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Entertainment, and JK Nickell and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly. Tommy Turtle serves as co-executive producer.
