The Lion King prequel Mufasa is set to release on JioHotstar on this date

The prequel to The Lion King (2019), the film is directed by Barry Jenkins, who is known for the Oscar-winning film Moonlight (2016), Mufasa: The Lion King that released late last year. Months after its theatrical release, the Disney film is set for an OTT premiere on JioHotstar on March 26.

The film follows the story of a young Mufasa as he navigates the Pride Lands and the story of how he befriends a young cub, called Taka, who will go on to become the prince named Scar. Characters like Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, and Rafiki play important roles in the film.

Mufasa: The Lion King's voice cast includes Aaron Pierre as Mufasa and Kelvin Harrison Jr as Taka. John Kani, Tiffany Boone, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Thandiwe Newton, Keith David, Mads Mikkelsen, and Beyonce also provide voices for various characters. The film features songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda from a score by Dave Metzger.

In the Tamil dub of the film, Arjun Das voices Mufasa, Ashok Selvan voices Taka, VTV Ganesh voices Rafiki, Singampuli voices Timon, Robo Shankar voices Pumbaa, and Nassar voices Kiros.

Mufasa: The Lion King will stream in English, Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu.
