A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, an upcoming romantic fantasy starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, was slated to hit theatres on May 9. However, the film has now been postponed. Now, the film will be released on September 19.

According to a report on Variety, Sony Pictures, the distributor of the film, decided to push the release to September, as the woman-led film would work better in a month filled with horror and male-centred releases.

Also starring Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Hamish Linklater, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is said to be “an imaginative tale of two strangers and the extraordinary emotional journey that connects them.”

Kogonada, who has previously helmed Pachinko and After Yang, is the director of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. The film's script comes from Seth Reiss, who was the scribe for The Menu. A Big Bold Beautiful Journey marks Colin Farrell's second collaboration with Kogonada, and the duo collaborated earlier in After Yang.

Bradley Thomas and Ryan Friedkin of Imperative Entertainment, Seith Reiss, and Youree Henley are producing the upcoming film. 30West is financing the film, which has Kogonada, Ilene Feldman, and Ori Eisen serving as executive producers.
