Stephen King’s Carrie series adaptation, on Prime Video, has finalised the main cast.

The titular role will be played by Summer Howell as a teenager with budding telekinetic abilities. Samantha Sloyan will be seen as Carrie’s intimidating mother, Margaret White. The series will also feature Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Siena Agudong, Amber Midthunder, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Joel Oulette and Matthew Lillard.

In the series, Thornton will portray Chris Hargensen; Emaline is played by Dudek; Sue Snell will be portrayed by Agudong; Miss Desjardin is portrayed by Midthunder; Tina will be played by Totah; Billy is played by Conti; Lillard will portray Principal Grayle, and Oulette will portray Tommy.

The series logline teases a deep dive into Carrie White's life, exploring her seclusion under "her domineering mother" and the tumultuous journey she embarks on after her father's unexpected death. As she navigates the unfamiliar high school world, a bullying controversy rocks her community, and her mysterious abilities begin to manifest.

Carrie (1974) is King's debut novel, and its success led to a highly acclaimed 1976 film adaptation, starring Sissy Spacek, from director Brian De Palma. The 2013 remake directed by Kimberly Peirce starred Chloë Grace Moretz.

Mike Flanagan will write and serve as an executive producer on this show through his banner, Intrepid Pictures. He is also the showrunner and director of the series. Trevor Macy is also an executive producer.
