Kevin Bacon and his actor wife Kyra Sedgwick took to Bacon's Instagram Stories to share their opinion on James Gunn's Superman, starring David Corenswet in the titular role. "We just came out of Superman. What a super movie. We had so much fun," said Bacon.

"It is so irreverent and so surprising. Acting is so good," said Sedgwick, eliciting a nod of agreement from her actor husband.

Bacon also reserved special praise for Edi Gathegi who played Mr Terrific in the film. "Big shout out to Mr Terrific, and he was my roommate while he was making the movie. So I am even more impressed," said the Footloose star. He also made a self-deprecating and humorous comment about mentioning his personal connection to Gathegi. “Isn’t that a terrible name drop?” he said.

Bacon also expressed his admiration for filmmaker Gunn with his signature humour. “Also James Gunn, I just want to say you can kidnap me anytime,” said Bacon, suggesting that he is completely on board with Gunn’s filmmaking. Notably, Bacon starred as Jacques, the main antagonist, in Super, the superhero comedy directed by Gunn, and played himself in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

The video ended with Bacon and Sedgwick saying, “You need the movies and the movies need you,” underscoring how the relationship between audiences and the film industry matters for each other's coexistence.

Superman has been enjoying a successful run at the worldwide box office, minting more than $400 million. The film centres on Superman (Corenswet) as he navigates conflicts that put his choices under question. Tech billionaire Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) exploits this vulnerability of Superman, even as determined journalist Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) works to vindicate the superhero. The narrative also delves into Superman's personal quest to reconcile his Kryptonian legacy with his human identity and redefine heroism in a complex society.
