Within its second weekend in theatres, James Gunn's Superman has risen past all odds and collected over $300 million worldwide. The earnings saw a drastic rise even on midweeks and minted $177.7 million in the US. In India, despite criticism over its censorship of a few intimate scenes and muting "strong words", audiences have been flocking to theatres to catch a glimpse of their favourite DC superhero. Throughout India, the film had collected over Rs 35.5 crore.

The film sees Superman (David Corenswet) in conflicts that question his actions, allowing tech billionaire Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) to undermine him, while intrepid journalist Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) works to help clear his name. It delves into Superman's journey of reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing and the meaning of heroism in a complex world.

The film has been met with largely positive critical reception. Critics have praised director Gunn's vibrant and human-centric storytelling, highlighting the strong performances of Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and their chemistry.

Our CE review of the film read, "The biggest strength of the film is that it makes you believe an extremely affable super powered character believing in the goodness of humans can be realistic and even aspirational."

Superman is out in theatres in IMAX 3D, 3D, and 2D formats. The film is also running in the cinemas in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu.
