Marcia Gay Harden joins Richard Madden in Netflix's Trinity

Marcia Gay Harden has joined the cast of Trinity, a new drama from Netflix. The series will star Richard Madden and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the lead, with JD Pardo also starring.

The story of Trinity follows a naval officer, whose unexpected connection with the US Secretary of Defence, plunges her into the world of politics.

Harden will don the role of Margaret Vandenburg, the CEO of the powerful Vandenburg business empire. Mbatha-Raw will portray naval officer, Commander Katherine Decker, who commands the nuclear submarine USS Kansas. Richard Madden is Secretary of Defense Webb Preston, a politician with a background in tech, a fact that sets him apart from the rest of his peers. JD Pardo will portray Lt Cdr Tom Reyes.

Trinity reunites Madden with the creator of Bodyguard, Jed Mercurio, who serves as the showrunner and as a writer for Trinity. He serves as an executive producer with Jimmy Melville, Wendy Mericle, and Michael Cuesta, who will also serve as a director on the series. The eight-episode series is backed by Hat Trick Mercurio.

Marcia Gay Harden has starred in the Fifty Shades trilogy, Clint Eastwood's Mystic River, Amy Poehler's Moxie, and Aaron Sorkin's TV Series The Newsroom.
