A trailer for Joachim Trier's new film Sentimental Value, has been released online recently. The film got its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, where it competed for the prestigious Palme d'Or.
The trailer for the English-Norwegien drama stars with muted music that highlights the intense dialogue between actress Nora Borg and actress Rachel Kemp, where Nora highlights the complicated relationship she shares with her father, director Gustav Borg. The trailer then features a montage of scenes that center around the relationship between Nora and Gustav.
Sentimental Value is Joachim Trier's second collaboration with actor Renate Reinsve, who plays Nora in the film. They previously collaborated on 2021's The Worst Person in the World, for which Reinsve won the Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival 2021. The film also stars Stellan Skarsgard, who was seen in Dune and Dune: Part II, as Gustav. With them Elle Fanning stars as Rachel Kemp, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas as Nora's sister, and Cory Michael Smith.
Backed by Neon Rated, Sentimental Value, is set to release on November 7.
