Kate Mara is set to star alongside Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington in Apple TV+’s highly anticipated psychological thriller series, Imperfect Women. The show, based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, was first commissioned by the streaming platform in March 2024.

Described as a gripping mystery, Imperfect Women revolves around a shocking crime that fractures the decades-long friendship of three women. As the investigation unfolds, so does the complex web of guilt, retribution, love, and betrayal, ultimately revealing how even the strongest relationships can shift over time. The series is expected to go into production in the coming months.

Annie Weisman will adapt the novel for television and serve as an executive producer. Lindsey McManus, representing Love & Squalor Pictures—the company that originally optioned the book—will also executive produce. Kerry Washington will executive produce under her Simpson Street banner, alongside Pilar Savone. Araminta Hall will be involved as an executive producer as well. The project is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios.

Mara, known for her Emmy-nominated performance in House of Cards, is also popular for her notable TV credits, including Pose, A Teacher, American Horror Story, and Class of ’09. On the film front, she has starred in Brokeback Mountain, Shooter, and The Martian.
