Back in Action star Cameron Diaz is thinking about reprising one of the most popular roles in her career. In a conversation with Access Hollywood, Diaz stated that she is open to playing her character from The Mask if a sequel were to be made to the 1994 comedy, starring Jim Carrey. "If Jim’s on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one," said Diaz. Recently, Carrey also expressed his willingness to return for the The Mask sequel. While promoting his film Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Carrey told ComicBook that he might be open to the film "if somebody had the right idea" for it.

In director Chuck Russell's film The Mask, Jim Carrey plays a timid bank clerk who discovers a magical mask that transforms him into an unpredictable and mischievous green-faced superhero. Cameron Diaz co-stars as a sultry singer who becomes entangled in the chaos that the The Mask unleashes.

Diaz makes a comeback after 11 years with Back in Action, a comedic thriller from director Seth Gordon that stars her opposite Jamie Foxx.
