Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that the widely praised romantic drama We Live in Time, starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, will make its exclusive streaming debut on Max on Friday, February 7, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The film will also premiere on HBO’s linear platform the following day, February 8, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Directed by John Crowley (Brooklyn) and penned by Nick Payne, the film unfolds as a nonlinear narrative spanning a decade. It tells the story of Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield), whose chance meeting sparks a profound connection that shapes their lives. Through a series of snapshots, viewers witness their journey—falling in love, creating a home, and building a family. However, a deeply unsettling truth threatens the very foundation of their relationship, pushing them to confront the fragility and beauty of each moment shared.

Initially premiering at the Toronto Film Festival before its theatrical release in the U.S. in October 2024, the film captivated audiences and critics alike, grossing over $37 million worldwide.

Produced by Adam Ackland, Leah Clarke, and Guy Heeley, We Live in Time is the latest A24 feature to join the HBO and Max roster under the studio’s multiyear pay-one output deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. This partnership, established in late 2023 following the end of A24’s previous agreement with Showtime, has brought several critically acclaimed films to the platform.
