In the aftermath of the devastating wildfires sweeping across Southern California, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated Netflix series With Love, Meghan. Originally set to premiere on January 15, the show will now debut on March 4.

In a statement shared by Netflix, Markle expressed her gratitude to the platform for supporting the decision to delay the show’s release during this critical time. “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she said.

With Love, Meghan is a lifestyle series blending elements of cooking, gardening, and shopping, described as a “heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California.” However, the ongoing devastation caused by wildfires in the region led to the decision to reschedule its release.

Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have actively engaged in relief efforts. On Friday, the couple was spotted at the Pasadena Convention Center, offering support to evacuees and first responders. According to Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, the Duke and Duchess assisted anonymously in meal distribution through chef José Andrés' World Central Kitchen and provided comfort to those displaced by the fires.

The Sussexes’ philanthropic work through their Archewell Foundation has been well-documented, with their commitment to global relief and resource distribution. This time, their focus remains on aiding their local community as Southern California grapples with the ongoing crisis.

The wildfires have claimed at least 24 lives, according to The New York Times. Two of the largest blazes, the Palisades and Eaton fires, have caused significant destruction, with the Eaton fire alone accounting for 16 fatalities. Meteorologists warn that another round of strong winds is expected to worsen conditions in the coming days.
