Jude Law to portray Vladimir Putin in The Wizard of the Kremlin

Actor Jude Law confirmed that he would play Russian president Vladimir Putin in his and writer-director Olivier Assayas's next film, titled The Wizard of the Kremlin. Assayas and Emmanuel Carrere has written the screenplay on the basis of Giuliano da Empoli's novel The Wizard of the Kremlin.

According to reports, the actor will play a younger Putin at the start of his career in governance, and the film will delve into the internal operations of politics in Russia. The film also stars Paul Dano in the lead role of Vadim Baranov, as well as Zach Galifianakis, Tom Sturridge, and Alicia Vikander.

The Wizard of the Kremlin was published in April 2022, a few months after the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Jude Law is fresh from the critically acclaimed crime drama The Order, which is yet to get an India release date. The actor's upcoming lineup also includes Black Rabbit, the Netflix series with Jason Bateman.
