Zendaya recently opened up about suffering heat stroke while filming Dune: Part 2 in the deserts of Jordan. In an interview with W magazine, the actor recounted how the intense heat, paired with the cumbersome full-body stillsuit costume, led to dehydration and ultimately heat stroke.

Reflecting on the experience, Zendaya said, "It was very hot, and I remember thinking, 'The bathrooms are so far away.' It took at least 10 minutes to get out of the costume. I didn’t want to drink too much water because I was afraid of needing the toilet. One day, I didn’t drink enough and ended up with heat stroke. I felt so barfy. I called my mom from the bathroom floor and she said, ‘Did you drink water today?’ I hadn’t.”

Zendaya plays Fremen warrior Chani in the sci-fi epic, donning the iconic stillsuit — a fictional garment designed to recycle bodily fluids into drinkable water. However, the practicality of the costume on set left much to be desired. “I wish it was real,” Zendaya joked. “I wish it had a cooling system or could turn bodily fluids into water. But you can’t pee in it. You just can’t.”

Despite the physical challenges, Zendaya has expressed her admiration for the Dune universe and her excitement to reprise the role alongside Timothée Chalamet.

Meanwhile, Zendaya’s relationship with Tom Holland continues to thrive, with the couple set to reunite on-screen for Spider-Man 4 and an upcoming Christopher Nolan project.
