Rumours have been rife about Andrew Garfield being part of the Spider-Man 4 cast, which already includes Tom Holland and Zendaya in the lead roles. However, the actor, who has played the role in the earlier Spider-Man reboots, has shot down the speculation in a recent GQ UK interview. While saying that he is not in the film, Garfield also quipped that people would no longer take him seriously after he made a similar response about his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Of course, MCU fans would remember how Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Holland appeared in the 2021 film as their respective Spidey versions.

Garfield was disappointed with how his Spider-Man stint ended after Amazing Spider-Man 2's box-office performance in 2014. He felt that it left him "dangling" within the universe, hence he considered his No Way Home role a "homecoming".

The actor also revealed that he might play the superhero character again if it would be "fun" and "in line with" his life situation. There has also been speculation about Garfield portraying Jesus Christ in an upcoming Martin Scorsese directorial, but the actor also denied it.
