General Hospital star John Capodice passes away

He made his acting debut on the ABC show Ryan’s Hope and appeared in many other TV programs as a guest star

John Capodice, who played character roles in General Hospital and Ace Ventura, passed away on Monday. Capodice was 88. The New Jersey-based Pizzi Funeral Home confirmed the news. Capodice served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966; he was stationed in Korea. Then, in the 1970s, he took up acting as his career path. He made his acting debut on the ABC show Ryan’s Hope and appeared in many other TV programs as a guest star. His most prominent role came in the TV show General Hospital, in which he portrayed Carmine Cerullo in six episodes in the mid 1990s.

His other well-known role came in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, where he played a cop who looks down upon Jim Carrey's character. His credits also include Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, Independence Day, Speed, Enemy of the State, The Doors, Family Business, Q, and The Doors.
