Kate Winslet to star in and direct Goodbye June

Kate Winslet is set to make her directorial debut with a Netflix drama titled Goodby June. She will also star in the film, along with Toni Collette, Andrea Riseborough, Johnny Flynn, Helen Mirren, and Timothy Spall. As per the official plotline, the film will tell the humorous tale of a set of characters in a fractured sibling relationship.

Winslet will direct the film from a Joe Anders screenplay and will produce it alongside Kate Solomon. Goodbye June is set to go on floors soon. The makers are yet to reveal further details about the film's plot, cast, and crew.

Winslet last appeared in director Ellen Kuras' film Lee as a model turned photographer during the Second World War.

Winslet's upcoming projects also include Avatar: Fire and Ash, where she will reprise her role as Metkayina clan leader Ronal from Avatar: The Way of Water. She will reunite her with her Titanic filmmaker James Cameron in the third instalment in the Avatar franchise, which is set for a December 19, 2025, release in theatres.
