The Batman Part II, which is slated to be released in 2027, is scheduled to start filming by the end of 2026. Robert Pattinson told Deadline at the premiere of his new film Mickey17, directed by Bong Joon-ho that the shooting for The Batman Part II is to start at the end of 2026.

The Batman (2021), which was based on The Long Halloween, Ego, and Year One comics, is brought to life a new iteration of the character played by Pattinson. It follows Batman as he unfolds a complex conspiracy laid out by a troubled genius named Edward Nashton (Paul Dano), as it unveils the truth about Bruce Wayne's family and Gotham City. Several fan-favourite characters like Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell), Selina Kyle (Zoë Kravitz), Jim Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) appear in the film.

The Batman Part II is expected to follow the sequence of events in the miniseries The Penguin (2024). The Penguin witnessed the return of Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell) as he dealt with the fallout of the events of The Batman (2021), with the return of a long-lost acquaintance in Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti), daughter of crime boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), haunting him.

Matt Reeves returns as the director and writer for The Batman Part II, with Mattson Tomlin as co-writer. Meanwhile, Mickey17 is to be released in India on March 7, 2025.
