Will Yun Lee and Jesse Garcia have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic, The Odyssey, according to Deadline. Garcia is known for his roles in The Mother and Flamin' Hot, whereas Yun Lee's most popular credits are San Andreas and The Good Doctor. The film, which reunites Nolan with distributor Universal Pictures after Oppenheimer, is described as "a mythic action epic" adapted from Homer's classic Greek poem of the same name.
The Odyssey follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The story delves into thematic elements of heroism, cunning, loyalty, and divine will. It features the titular character's encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the witch-goddess Circe, and mythical creatures called the Sirens.
Garcia and Lee join a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie. The cast also includes Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, and Bill Irwin.
Nolan's film, which is being shot with new Imax cameras, is slated for a July 17, 2026, release in theatres. This July weekend has been a profitable release window for Nolan, with previous hits such as The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, and Oppenheimer all launching during that time.
