Earlier, we reported about Sam Raimi directing and producing an upcoming horror-thriller titled Send Help for 20th Century Studios. The latest from the project is that its production has commenced. The film stars Dylan O'Brien and Rachel McAdams in the lead roles. Raimi is directing it from a screenplay by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers known for 2017's Dwayne Johnson-starrer Baywatch. The filmmaker is also producing it through his Raimi Productions banner along with Zainab Azizi.

The plot follows two colleagues who become the last survivors of a plane crash on an island. Send Help marks Raimi's first film as a director since 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. More recently, he served as a producer on the horror-thriller Don’t Move. As a producer, his upcoming projects include Locked, another film in the same genre that stars Anthony Hopkins and Bill Skarsgard in important roles. He is also returning to co-produce the Crawl sequel, as well as serving as an executive producer on a series adaptation of the animated cartoon I'm The Grim Reaper.
