One of the most popular card games and anime adventure series, Bakugan, will now be made into a feature film with filmmaker Brad Peyton being attached as the director and producer.

The toy company Spin Master Corp., according to Deadline, is developing the project with Peyton, Lindsay Herbert and Spin Master Entertainment producing the film. Based on the over $1 billion selling-toy line and global anime franchise, Bakugan has almost a 300-episode series aired globally, in addition to its toy business spread across 100 countries.

Saying Bakugan is ready for the "film treatment," Peyton shares that he is thrilled to be a part of the project and assures to build a "hit franchise with global appeal." He expressed confidence that the Bakugan film will do justice to the game's "unique and epic world."

Bakugan will be the third feature film in Spin Master Entertainment's filmography, along with Paw Patrol: The Movie (2021) and Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). The Paw Patrol franchise will expand with a third film slated for a release in 2026.

Peyton returned to direction after Rampage (2018) with the sci-fi action film Atlas last year. Though opening to majorly negative reviews, the film became successful upon its Netflix debut.
