Guy Pearce is known for his superlative performances in films, such as LA Confidential, The King's Speech, and last year's The Brutalist. However, the actor recently had a brutally honest take on his own performance as an amnesiac insurance investigator in Christopher Nolan's sophomore directorial, the 2000 film Memento. "I watched Memento the other day and I’m still depressed," the actor told The Sunday Times, before adding, "I’m sh** in that movie."

In Nolan's film, the actor plays a character with no memory of his wife's death and trying to find the killer with tattoos and notes. According to him, he could not work with Nolan on a film again because of his performance in Memento. After his recent viewing of the film, the actor also recalled a time when a Warner Bros executive said that they would not not employ him again for a Nolan directorial. "I know why I didn’t work with Chris again—it’s because I’m no good in Memento," he admitted. Saying he was "bad in a good movie," Pearce explained, "I was trying to do a flippant attitude but it was all wrong."

However, the actor earned best actor nominations and wins in multiple award events for his Memento performance. He is also in the running for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar this year for his performance in The Brutalist, the Brady Corbet directorial that also stars Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones.
