After Derek Dixon, another actor, Mario Rodriguez of Boo! A Madea Halloween fame, has sued Tyler Perry for an alleged case of sexual assault by the filmmaker. In his recent lawsuit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, Rodriguez claims that the filmmaker assaulted him more times than one at the latter's Los Angeles residence.

Rodriguez, known for his role in Boo! A Madea Halloween, directed by Perry, is litigating the filmmaker for not just sexual assault but also sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The actor is also introducing a legal claim against Boo! A Madea Halloween distributor Lionsgate for its alleged ignorance of the filmmaker's actions against him.

Rodriguez claims that while he stopped contacting Perry in 2019, the filmmaker kept approaching him from time to time afterwards. According to Rodriguez's complaint, it is his knowledge of Dixon's recent lawsuit against Perry that prompted him to act legally against the filmmaker. Perry's lawyer, Alex Spiro, told Variety that the same legal representative involved in Dixon's lawsuit against the filmmaker has made a 'money grab' claim dating back over ten years. While Spiro argued that Dixon failed in his lawsuit against Perry, reports suggest that it has not been a failure but rather has been caught in the crosshairs of the legal system.
