The other day, Prime Video announced the release date and dropped first-look photographs for its much-awaited thriller series, titled 56 Days, based on Catherine Ryan Howard's eponymous novel. The eight-episode-long series, hailing from writers and executive producers Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher, will become accessible on Prime Video on February 18 next year.

The plot follows Ciara Wyse (Dove Cameron) and Oliver Kennedy (Avan Jogia), who instantly fall in love with each other following their chance encounter at a supermarket. After 56 days, homicide investigators go to Oliver's flat and discover a human body in a decomposed state. Is it Ciara's body? If so, did Oliver commit the crime? Or is it Oliver's body, and did Ciara kill him? The series intercuts between the investigation in the present and the couple's past, charting the complex trajectory of their affair.

According to the makers, 56 Days is "both a unique crime story and a riveting, sexy, psychological thriller." The series also stars Dorian Missick and Karla Souza in the roles of Karl Connolly and Lee Reardon, respectively. James Wan, Rob Hackett, and Michael Clear also serve as executive producers on the series through Atomic Monster, whereas Danielle Bozzone oversees its production for the aforementioned company. Novelist Catherine Ryan Howard, too, serves as an executive producer on the series. Atomic Monster is producing it alongside Amazon MGM Studios.
