Leonardo DiCaprio is the latest in the long-line of celebrities who have expressed their displeasure against AI making large strides in all sectors and industries in the world, including filmmaking. Sharing his doubts, he noted how it aiding in loss of jobs for talented people and said that it is incapable of having humanity.

“It could be an enhancement tool for a young filmmaker to do something we’ve never seen before. I think anything that is going to be authentically thought of as art has to come from the human being," he said, in a recent interview with Time magazine.

DiCaprio further added, "Otherwise — haven’t you heard these songs that are mashups that are just absolutely brilliant and you go, ‘Oh my God, this is Michael Jackson doing the Weeknd,’ or This is funk from the A Tribe Called Quest song 'Bonita Applebum,' done in, you know, a sort of Al Green soul-song voice, and it’s brilliant.’ And you go, ‘Cool.’ But then it gets its 15 minutes of fame and it just dissipates into the ether of other internet junk."

The actor underlined that despite its brilliance, the technology lacks "anchoring" and "humanity."

Earlier Guillermo del Toro hit back at the rising tech stating his complete lack of interest in using it. "“I’m 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. … The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I’d rather die’,” he said. James Cameron also echoed similar thoughts and asserted that he banned AI when creating Avatar movies.

Leonardo DiCaprio's latest film One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, had on Monday received nine nominations for this year's Golden Globes.
