Kirsten Dunst expresses interest to star in Minecraft 2; Here's why

Kirsten Dunst has witnessed a sprawling career, acting with notable directors like Sam Raimi, Sofia Coppola, Lars von Trier, Jane Campion, Alex Garland and more. But the actor's current priorities are different.

In an interview with Town & Country magazine, Dunst said she wants to make a "pile of cash" and wants to star in Minecraft 2 to achieve the dream. "Because her kids loved the first one and because she’d like to make a pile of cash," the publication said with Dunst stating, "Maybe I can just make a movie where I don’t lose money?"

Directed by Jared Hess, A Minecraft Movie was released in April. Starring Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks and Emma Myers, among others, the film is based on the 2011 video game Minecraft by Mojang Studios. It was a huge box office hit, earning $955 million worldwide and is third highest grossing movie of this year after Lilo & Stitch live-action film and Ne Zha II.

Kirsten Dunst was last seen in Civil War, directed by Alex Garland which was released last year. Up next, she will be seen in Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance and The Entertainment System Is Down, helmed by Ruben Östlund.
