The makers of the upcoming fantasy thriller, Rabbit Trap, which stars Dev Patel in the lead, released the trailer of the film recently. Rosy McEwan, who was seen in Black Mirror, will star alongside Patel in the film.

Rabbit Trap will be directed by Bryn Chainey, in his feature directorial debut. Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, will produce the film under the SpectreVision banner, alongside Daniel Noah, Adrian Politowski, and Lawrence Inglee. Bankside Films is also backing Rabbit Trap.

The synopsis of the films is as follows, "eeking new inspiration and a fresh start, married musicians Daphne (Rosy McEwan) and Darcy (Dev Patel) move to the Welsh countryside to finish their new record. While collecting audio samples, Darcy inadvertently creates a field recording of mysterious sound never before heard by human ears. The discovery renews Daphne’s creative energy, but as the echoes of her music bleed into the surrounding landscape, ancient and malevolent woodland forces are disturbed. One day, a stranger arrives on their doorstep. The couple initially embraces the stranger, who helps them navigate and understand their new environment, but Darcy grows suspicious of his obsession. As jealousy and paranoia infect the makeshift family, the line between reality and myth begins to blur."

Dev Patel made his directorial debut with the action thriller Monkey Man, which also featured Tabla exponent Zakir Hussain. While the film is releasing on September 12 across several places, an Indian theatrical release is yet to get a release date.
