After gaining highly positive response from the audience, the character of Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk, who was seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will receive his own animated feature treatment at Sony Pictures animation. Actor Daniel Kaluuya who voiced the character in the film, is on-board as a co-writer with Ajon Singh, as Sony is in early development on the film, reported Deadline.

Spider-Punk is a variant of Spider-Man, and lives on an alternate Earth, but is a London based Spider-Man variant. In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Hobie Brown helps Gwen Stacy with some key equipment in order to save Miles Morales. Brown later joins Stacy and her ragtag team of renegades, who join together to save Miles. Hobie was also revealed to be romantically involved with Gwen, after she had to abandon Miles.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the second in the trilogy, which started with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series follows the adventures of Miles Morales, whose fate takes him across the multiverse, which culminates him meeting his most formidable foe yet, himself. A sequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is set to be released on June 25, 2027.

Kaluuya reunited with Peele for Nope, and made his directorial debut with The Kitchen. He will be seen next in Chris Rock's directorial which also stars Adam Driver and Anna Kendrick.
