After Norman Reedus, Academy Award-nominated actor Jacki Weaver becomes the latest addition to the cast of producer Darren Aronofsky's horror feature Pendulum. She joins the film's lead actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Phoebe Dynevor. Written and directed by Mark Heyman, known as the co-screenwriter of 2010's Black Swan, the film's production is underway in New Mexico.

Pendulum revolves around Patrick (Gordon-Levitt) and his wife Abigail (Dynevor), who go to New Mexico for a retreat to recover from trauma. Weaver is set to play a mystical healer named Ella-Rose. Patrick is ready to go to any lengths to support his spouse, but he does not trust Ella-Rose, who has a strong influence on Abigail. The two must find out the truth behind Ella-Rose's spiritual practices.

Aronofsky is producing the film under his Protozoa banner, alongside Dave Caplan of C2 and Motel Mojave's Elan Klein and Jacob Jaffke.

Weaver is most popular for her roles in Animal Kingdom and Silver Linings Playbook, which earned her Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominations in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
