The cast of the upcoming coming-of-age comedy The Marshmallow Experiment has been formed, reports Deadline. Richard Goldgewicht is directing the film, with Dafne Keen, Steve Buscemi, Josh Lucas, Johnny Knoxville, Sarah Chalke, and Sam McCarthy forming the cast.

Keen is known for her role as Laura in Logan, Deadpool and Wolverine. Buscemi has starred in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, Monsters, Inc, and Boardwalk Empire. Josh Lucas has varied appearances in film and television, including Ford v Ferrari and Yellowstone. Johnny Knoxville is a stunt performer known for his TV show Jackass. Sarah Chalke and Sam McCarthy have performed in Scrubs and Dead to Me, respectively.

The Marshmallow Experiment follows a teenage internet addict going through a wild path of digital detox after he performs poorly in bed with his girlfriend. The wild ride includes parents that are influencers, AI avatars, and a talking gorilla.

Matt Hamilton and Abe Frank are the writers for The Marshmallow Experiment. Director Goldgewicht and Ruth Bornhauser produce the film under the Core Story banner. Jayce Barreiro and Graem Luis are producing under the Cinema Group banner. Teia Kane, Brian Liebman, Steve Read, and Jared Zhang are executive producers on the film.
