Anna Sawai joins the cast of David Leitch’s How To Rob A Bank

Shogun breakout star Anna Sawai is now gearing up for her next big project where she will be joining director David Leitch for his upcoming film How to Rob a Bank for Amazon MGM Studios. She is joining a star-studded cast consisting of Nicholas Hoult and Pete Davidson.

The film, whose plot details are kept under wraps, is expected to be released in theatres. It has a script written by Mark Bianculli, known for Hunters and the upcoming Cliffhanger reboot. Producers are Kelly McCormick for 87North, Leitch, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum for Imagine Entertainment. Bianculli will executive produce.

Sawai earned her first major recognition last year with an Emmy award for her performance in the historical drama series Shogun which she followed it up with the Golden Globe and a SAG Award. She is currently working on (Saint) Peter, directed by Josh Klausner and recently completed shooting for Apple TV+’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2.

She also appears in Seasons 1 and 2 of the Apple TV+ series Pachinko, Justin Lin’s F9 — the ninth film in Universal’s Fast and Furious franchise — the Netflix/BBC production Giri/Haji, and James McTeigue’s Ninja Assassin.
