After the applause and accolades received by the John Wick-like World War II film Sisu, the makers of the sequel announced that the second part will be released on November 21.

The sequel has Jalmari Helander returning as the writer and director with Jorma Tommila back as the lead alongside newcomers Richard Brake and Stephen Lang.

While Sisu's sequel plot details are kept under wraps, the first film was set against the 1944 Lapland War, where Aatami Korpi (Jorma), a former Finnish commando turned gold prospector, discovers a rich deposit of gold in the wilderness only to contend with the retreating Waffen-SS to have its possession. The Nazis step on a proverbial landmine while trying to snatch the gold by provoking Aatami, who is a relentless war machine. What ensues is a bloody, violent quest of Aatami to reclaim his gold. Sisu in Finnish means "unwavering determination", which is embodied by the male lead.

Petri Jokiranta is producing the film, with Gregory Ouanhon and Antonio Salas serving as deputy producers. Sisu 2 has Mika Orasmaa canning the shots, Anu Sallinen in the art department, Barry Donnelly in the sound department, and Roman Neso Laupmaa and Mikko Lopponen handling the stunts.
