Jacob Elordi had plans to take a breather from acting—until filmmaker Emerald Fennell reached out with an offer he couldn’t refuse.

The Euphoria star revealed he was ready for a hiatus before Fennell, fresh off their collaboration on Saltburn, sent him a text about her next project: a new adaptation of Wuthering Heights. “I was going to take a break for a while, and then Emerald just very simply texted me, and you can’t run from that text,” Elordi told IndieWire. With a working relationship already in place, he didn’t even need to audition.

Production on Wuthering Heights recently wrapped in the UK, and this time around, Elordi takes on the iconic role of Heathcliff. Starring opposite him as Catherine Earnshaw is Margot Robbie, who also serves as producer under her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. The film, based on Emily Brontë’s timeless novel, follows the intense and destructive romance between the two leads and its lasting effects on those around them.

Elordi had high praise for his co-star: “She’s incredible in the film; she’s a livewire. I’m so, so excited for people to see it. She’s a beautiful actor, and she gave so, so much.”

The upcoming Warner Bros. film is slated for release in February 2026. In the meantime, Elordi is keeping busy with Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, expected later this year, and is currently filming Season 3 of Euphoria. Robbie will next be seen in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey opposite Colin Farrell, which is due out this September.
