Streamer Hulu is a part of the untitled limited series project based on the famous Murdaugh murders. The crime drama series will have Michael D Fuller serving as the showrunner. He co-created the project with Erin Lee Carr.
The latest update is that Noah Emmerich of The Big Cigar fame, Kathleen Wilhoite of Yellowstone fame, and Tommy Dewey of Saturday Night fame have joined the star cast of the series.
Billed as a "stranger-than-fiction family drama," the series is based on journalist Mandy Matney's reporting of the true story of Maggie and Alex Murdaugh. Matney is the creator of the Murdaugh Murders Podcast. She comes with a deep insider knowledge of the case that she followed for years.
The actors will join the already announced cast members Jason Clarke, Patricia Arquette, Johnny Berchtold, J Smith-Cameron, Will Harrison, and Brittany Snow. Emmerich will play Randy Murdaugh, elder and in stark contrast to his younger brother Alex. Wilhoite plays Gloria Satterfield, the loyal housekeeper who served the Murdaughs' for decades. She is known for her religious beliefs and putting the Murdaughs' well-being over hers. Dewey plays Mark Tinsley, who is a dashing and confident counsel appearing for the parents of the girl who loses her life. What adds more flavour to Tinsley's character is that he was an old friend of Alex.
