The trailer for Netflix’s upcoming series, The Four Seasons, starring, co-created and executive produced by Tina Fey, was unveiled on Tuesday. The series also stars Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Erika Henningsen, among others.
The trailer shows the actors as a group of friends who regularly go on vacations together. Their personalities, relationships and friendship dynamics bring in chaos, drama and comedy into their holidays. As per the official logline, The Four Seasons will “follow long-time friends through the ups and downs of life over the course of four seasonal vacations (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter). Together, they have a lot to unpack.”
The series is based on the 1981 film of the same name, penned and helmed by Alan Alda. Fey has co-created the adaptation with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield. Universal TV is producing The Four Seasons. Alda, Marissa Bregman and Martin Bregman will serve as the producers.
The Four Seasons film, which also stars Alda, follows three couples who take vacations together. How the dynamics of the group change when one couple splits and the man brings a woman much younger than him forms the rest of the story. Carol Burnett, Len Cariou, Rita Moreno, Jack Weston, Sandy Dennis and Bess Armstrong formed the cast of the film.
David Miner, Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond executive produce The Four Seasons series along with Fey, Fisher and Wigfield. The series is all set to premiere on Netflix on May 1.
