Actors Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgard have onboarded the cast of the upcoming Netflix film Mosquito Bowl, based on Buzz Bissinger's The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II. Directed by Peter Berg, the film is his first new project after his deal with the streaming giant was recently renewed.

Details of Galitzine and Skarsgard's roles have not been disclosed. Set in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, Mosquito Bowl follows four of the nation's top college football athletes who put their promising careers on hold to join the Marines. As they gear up for the harrowing battle of Okinawa, they take part in a legendary football game—one that will be the final match for several of them.

The film has been written by Berg along with Mark L Smith and bankrolled by the filmmaker, Brian Grazer and Alex Gayner. Ezra Emanuel is the film's executive producer.

Last seen in star-studded projects like Purple Hearts, The Idea of You, and Mary & George, Galitzine will be next seen playing the lead role as He-Man in the new Masters of the Universe film. He will also star in Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie and 100 Nights of Hero.

Meanwhile, Skarsgard, who recently played the titular role in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, can be currently seen in David Yarovesky's Locked. Up next, he has Dead Man’s Wire, The Death of Robin Hood and IT: Welcome to Derry.
