With the release slated for May 23, the makers of Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, touted to be the last film of the Mission: Impossible franchise, dropped the new trailer on Monday.

The latest glimpse is packed with more adrenaline-pumping action sequences from all of Ethan Hunt's adventures through the years since the first film in 1996.

Besides Cruise and Angela Bassett, who returns to her role of CIA Director Erika Sloane, the cast reprising their roles includes Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, and Frederick Schmidt. Newcomers to the franchise include Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Katy O'Brian, and Stephen Oyoung.

Christopher McQuarrie, who directed and wrote the previous Mission: Impossible instalments, will once again helm the project. The film, previously titled Mission: Impossible 8, is slated for a May 23, 2025, release.

Bassett currently plays LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant in ABC's 9-1-1. On the feature film front, she recently appeared in Netflix's Damsel alongside Millie Bobby Brown. The actor is also lending her voice to Laika's animated film Wildwood and will star opposite Robert De Niro in Netflix's political thriller series Zero Day.
