Jackie Chan is back as a coach for a new Karate championship, this time with Ralph Macchio, who played Daniel LaRusso in the original 1984 The Karate Kid. The new trailer for Karate Kid: Legends which was released by Sony Pictures, follows a similar pattern as the 2010 remake headlined by Chan and Jaden Smith.

Li Wong (Ben Wang) moves to a new city with his mother to begin a new page in his life, but a local karate champion breaks his peace. In order to defend himself, Li tries to enter the championhip. Chan, who reprises his role as the formidable Mr Han from the 2010 film, is joined by LaRusso as they team up to teach Li Karate from scratch to win the championship.

Jonathan Entwistle is directing the new installment in the Karate Kid franchise from a Rob Lieber screenplay.

Karate Kid: Legends is set three years after Cobra Kai's final season. The rest of the cast members from the film include Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley and Ming-Na Wen.

The film marks the sixth Karate Kid movie and is slated for a release in theatres on May 30.
