Guillermo del Toro has long been working on a film based on Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein. Production on the film, starring Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's monster, commenced in February. The latest from its maker Guillermo del Toro is that it has been wrapped.

The cast of the film also includes Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Oscar Isaac. On the other hand, it will have a cameo from Ralph Ineson, the actor known for The Witch and The First Omen.

Shelley’s novel revolves around Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who creates a monster. There have been many adaptations of the story on the small and big screens, most notably 1931's Frankenstein. That being said, del Toro is expected to bring his distinctive filmmaking touches and vision to it.

Besides serving as its writer and director, del Toro is also the producer of the film for Netflix. The project reunites the Pans Labrynth filmmaker with his Cabinet Of Curiosities series collaborator, producer J Miles Dale.

In 2008, del Toro said about his passion project, "The best moments in my mind of Frankenstein, of the novel, are yet to be filmed." It has been filmed now, and let us wait to see what else is in store from the makers.
