Jonah Hauer-King will star in the film The Eden Express as Mark Vonnegut, a part of a family of writers, reports Variety. Daniel Cockburn has written the film on the basis of Mark Vonnegut’s eponymous memoir, and he will direct it.

The Eden Express follows Vonnegut's endeavour to go away from Nixon's US to a commune in British Columbia for a better lifestyle. Accompanying him on his quest to discover this "Eden" is his lover Virgie and friends. However, when this utopia enters the picture, Vonnegut starts hearing voices and having visions that present him with ominous instructions, which mark the beginning of his bipolar disorder journey.

Scythia Films’ Daniel Bekerman and Christina Wood as well as Good Question Media’s Chris Yurkovich will produce the film. The makers are looking for further cast members.

Known for The Little Mermaid and The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Hauer-King's upcoming projects include romantic-comedy The Threesome, the historical film William Tell, the thriller Rich Flu, and a lead role in season 15 of Doctor Who.
