Destin Daniel Cretton, known for making the MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is reportedly directing the upcoming Spider-Man film with Tom Holland. Holland, who last donned the role in the 2021 blockbuster film Spider-Man: No Way Home, will reprise his role as the superhero Peter Parker.

The film will be a collaboration between Sony and Marvel, which is owned by Disney. No Way Home, along with the first two Spider-Man films starring Holland, was helmed by Jon Watts. Holland was first introduced as Spider-Man in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War.

Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are said to be writing the film, with Kevin Feige from Marvel and Amy Pascal from Sony producing it. The film will go on floors early next year. It is not yet confirmed if Zendaya will return to play the role of Mary Jane.
