Rhys Darby, Baron Vaughn, Vivian Bang, and Tre Hale play the lead characters in an independent film titled Song of the Bigfoot. Screenwriter Brent Bishop makes his directorial debut with the film, described as a dramedy. Newbie Emily McEnroe and Desperate Housewives star Brenda Strong are also part of the cast.
The plot follows Hale, Vaughn, and Bang's characters as they get lost in a forest while searching for the Bigfoot and face an ordeal that threatens to take their lives away. Soon, they realise that have to keep themselves safe and dedicate their time to saving another life. They have to rely on the guidance of Bigfoot Society's chief (Strong) and the pearls of wisdom of its long-lost founding member (Darby) as they try to find their ways back home while grappling with personal demons, past traumas, and lost love (McEnroe).
Sutton McKee, Bishop, Alexis Cohen, and Jacqueline Gault produced the film under the Sparkle Whale Productions banner. Bishop also composed the score.
