The trailer for writer-director Marielle Heller's Nightbitch, featuring Amy Adams in an important role, was unveiled on Tuesday. Scoot McNairy, Ella Thomas, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, and Kerry O'Malley also star in the upcoming horror comedy.

The trailer features Adams as a housekeeper and mother to a toddler, who finds it frustrating and depressing to raise the naughty and hyper-active child by herself. As she embraces the wild side of motherhood, she starts noticing symptoms that indicate her transformation into a dog.

The official logline of Nightbitch describes Adams' character as one who is “thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine.”

Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Emmett James Snowden, and Archana Rajan round out the cast of Nightbitch. Marielle Heller has adapted the film from the eponymous novel by Rachel Yoder. Heller, Adams, Sue Naegle, Anne Carey, Stacy O’Neil, and Christina Oh are the producers of Nightbitch. The film is all set to hit theatres in December.
