Robert Rippberger's Renner adds Marcia Gay Harden to cast

She will be joining previously announced cast members Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane and Taylor Gray

The upcoming sci-fi thriller from Robert Rippberger, Renner, has added Marcia Gay Harden to the cast. She will be joining previously announced cast members Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane and Taylor Gray. 

Harden will lend her voice to the character, Salenus, an AI partner created by Renner (Muniz), the computer genius. The film will revolve around the titular character Renner, who attempts to woo his new neighbor, Jamie (Beane), with the assistance of Salenus, but things take a turn when he inadvertently uploads the personality of his controlling mother into the system.

Rippberg has co-written the script for Renner with Martin Medina and Luke Medina, and has produced with Medina, KT Kent, David Keaton and Jay Burnley.  

Harden first won an Oscar nomination for Mystic River, following which, she gained her second Academy Award nod for her work in The Morning Show. She won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Ed Harris-directoral, Pollock. Her credits also include So Help Me Todd and Knox Goes Away.
